Welcome Letter
Welcome Letter
We are delighted to welcome you to 16 Biennial Convention of The ASEAN Neurological Association (ASNA) 2025. It is our honour and privilege to host this prestigious event in Bali, Indonesia.
The ASEAN Neurological Association (ASNA) is one of the most significant neurology scientific events in Southeast Asia. The symposium encompasses presidential lectures, plenary symposiums, and parallel sessions.
Meanwhile the workshops will cover full-day courses, half-day courses, and mini teaching courses varying from teaching courses to hands-on practices. This conference will also conduct E-poster competition. There are also non-scientific events offered, such as exhibitions, faculty meetings, organizational meetings, gala dinners, and neuro run.
This event will be a great opportunity for all pharmaceutical, medical device, and instrument industries, to introduce and promote their products for more than 1,000 neurologist and others allied healthcare professionals from around the globe.
This event will be held in Bali Sunset Road Convention Center, Bali, Indonesia, marked as one of the most exciting and beautiful places in Bali. Nestled in the heart of Denpasar by the gentle embrace of the sea, where nature’s beauty and tranquility converge with great access to beautiful tourism spot, cultural heritage, beautiful landscape, and shopping centres.
We look forward to seeing you very soon!
With best wishes,
Rivan Danuaji
Convenor of the 16th Asean Neurological Association (ASNA)
This year's theme is ASEAN Collaborative Strategy to Encounter Challenge and Growing Burden in Neurological Disorders. In our region, the challenges in neurology increased exponentially after the COVID-19 pandemic. We are trying to catch up with advanced knowledge, newer investigations, and treatment options in neurology. However, this is limited by a lack of neurologists, inadequate opportunities for subspecialty training, and insufficient funding and facilities. Our regional survey demonstrated the inequality of resources and great variation in neurology training and practices in our region.
The growing burden of neurology, increasing treatment costs, and slow regional academic and clinical progress exponentially expand the treatment gap in the field. On the other hand, the popularization of telecommunications post-COVID enables us to connect more and access advanced knowledge via webinars. We are getting closer and collaborating more. Similarly, learning opportunities are easily and mostly freely available.
Therefore, the organizing committee of The 16 ASNA Convention is working hard to plan a comprehensive program covering various subspecialty fields in neurology. The symposia aim to advance knowledge in neurology. There are also many educational workshops to equip young neurologists and trainees with essential and practical neurological skills that will improve patient care in the region.
Meanwhile, the convention provides a platform to meet face-to-face, build a stronger bond, and foster collaboration. We have also planned a Neuro Run on the last day to express our determination to run and face the challenges and growing burden together. Last, I would like to express my gratitude to the Indonesian Neurological Association (PERDOSNI) for hosting The 16th ASEAN Neurological Association (ASNA) Biennial Convention.
I am looking forward to meeting you in August. Welcome to Bali, Indonesia. “Advancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and improving patient care within the field of neurology”
With best wishes,
Kheng-Seang LIM
President of ASEAN Neurological Association
The 16th Biennial Convention of ASNA 2025 is not only a platform for advancing knowledge in the field of neurology but also a celebration of the rich diversity that each of you brings to the table. As we live in an increasingly interconnected world, it is through exchanges like these that we can build bridges of understanding, forge new partnerships, and address the challenges that transcend national borders. We are especially proud to host this event in Bali, a place where history, culture, and progress have always harmoniously coexisted. We hope that alongside the important work we will accomplish over the coming days, you will also have the opportunity to experience the warmth of our hospitality, the vibrancy of our communities, and the natural beauty of our island.
This event will provide a unique opportunity for collaboration, learning, and development. The diversity of perspectives, expertise, and experience gathered here will undoubtedly enrich our discussions and lead to outcomes that will benefit not only our respective organizations but also the broader ASEAN community.
I am delighted to welcome you all to this exciting event, and I look forward to the fruitful discussions and collaborations that lie ahead.
With best wishes,
Dodik Tugasworo Pramukarso
President of the Indonesian Neurological Association
